I hope you find someone to go to the gym with you. It is not a silly fear, and if it makes you feel better everyone else at the gym is just as nervous as you are. Everybody is worried about their physique in one way or another even if they look in shape. I know I am. I would recommend watching some YouTube videos and if you google specific exercises you can find videos of people doing them, all exercises can feel weird and uncomfortable at first. There is also so much you can do to start your fitness journey at home with body weight exercises(squats, lunges). Once you start the see the changes in yourself that can give you more confidence to go to the gym.
