Lubricant for craftsman jigsaw: I’m taking apart my grandpa’s jigsaw. The shaft that moves up & down is covered in a green lubricant that smells exactly like crayon. My grandpa grew up during the depression, I’m wondering if anyone has heard of using crayon wax as a Lube for power tools.

Is this electrode holder that I made safe? No current flows (that I’m aware of) when I set it in there. I just started hobby welding a few weeks ago & want to make sure I’m not doing anything dangerous.
