Guns, Blocks, and Steel - Silver - Voxel multiplayer FPS with fully destructible terrain
I'm a solo dev working on a multiplayer FPS with destructible terrain, resource management, and retro inspired gun play. Fight over resources, refine resources at your base, build vehicles and ammo, defend your base, obliterate your enemy's base, destroy the whole map with rockets, whatever you want. Play on procedural or handcrafted maps on pvp or co-op game modes, or play singleplayer with bots. At last, after several abandoned projects I'm finally releasing a game!

I also wanted to talk about this game's backstory in this post. The game started off in 2021 as another Minecraft clone. I just wanted to learn Unity, and I think procedural generation and voxels are fun so I decided to make a Minecraft clone in Unity. I got some chunks and infinite terrain generation working and I stopped working on it. Years later in 2024 I felt the urge to get back into game dev and I remembered this old project I had. I thought about what kinda game I could make with blocks. Then I thought, fuck it, I'm gonna make what Ace of Spades should've been. So I dusted off this old project and added guns... and steel. 9 months later and the game is ready to release! Hardest part of this project was the multiplayer, because sometimes it just doesn't work. Sometimes it just works, sometimes not. And avoiding burnout was a problem for me too. The game was originally gonna have more base building mechanics but I cut that to avoid burnout. Yeah scope creep killed my projects before and I learned now to not let that happen.
But, If I decide to keep updating the game, I would add more base building mechanics and weapons for sure. For now though, I'm definitely gonna take a break from game dev.
