Who's the fighter who you believed would be a top tier guy but never really reached that?

Starting with mine if you look at Anthony Pettis although the Henderson fights, his personal story of triumph and the title win are great I felt (at 11 years old) that the lightweight division could have been his before khabib takes that reign

But injury history just got bigger and bad performances took him from wheaties box to guy I remember for being one those guys you remember for highlights and being in the mix of bigger stories

This is a mix of belief in his abilities and moveset and definitely mix of nostalgia and aura
