WD My Passport not recognizing immediately on macOS

I have a 4 TB WD My Passport external hard drive. 98% of the time, it takes at least 5-10 minutes to mount on macOS but shows up immediately on Windows. It also happens sometimes with WD Elements but not any other brand HDD or SSD! Does anyone else know why this is happening or if formatting the entire drive helps?
