Sexual Consent

You do not have consent if…

•They are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol

•They are being pressured, manipulated, tricked or scared into giving “consent”

•You ignore their wishes or nonverbal cues to stop, like pushing away

•You have consent for one sexual act, but not another sexual act (example: oral sex, anal sex)

•They change their mind — earlier consent doesn’t count as consent later

•You have a partner who is disengaged, nonresponsive, or visibly upset

You do not have consent if it is not informed consent…

•”Rape by deception is a situation in which the perpetrator obtains the victim's agreement to engage in sexual intercourse or other sex acts, but gains it by deception, such as false statements or actions, including leading the target into illusory perceptions in order to get sex.”

•”Sexual encounters involving deception that may qualify as sexual misconduct include (among many others) lying about the use of contraception, lying about your age, marital status, lying about having been tested for sexually transmitted diseases and infections.”

Consent looks like…

•Asking permission before you change the type or degree of sexual activity with phrases like “Is this OK?”

•Confirming that there is reciprocal interest before initiating any physical touch.

•Letting your partner know that you can stop at any time.

•Periodically checking in with your partner, such as asking “Is this still okay?”

Edit: Some of you are really getting mad over a post about consent..? A post that’s meant for men and women? I genuinely don’t understand how this could upset anyone.
