Crew work

Why is it so hard to find people to play with? I started playing Star Citizen recently long time player of elite dangerous. It's so easy to meet people inside of elite. I've been spamming chat for a while now in Star Citizen asking if anybody wants to have an extra crew member because I would like to try playing in a crew. I haven't found anyone. I'm just trying to save up for a Cutlass black and I want to try something other than my regular solo grind. Closest I've had to being able to play with someone, they were asking if anyone wanted to man the turret but my starter ship can't get to Pyro. Ninjabizza is my name.
