RE:0 Advice for Handling the Leachman?

Basically, just the title. I’m playing Resident Evil Zero on “hard” and I’m getting frustrated with the leech-based enemies; particularly academy award winning actress Cloris Leachman. I know the Leachman are vulnerable to fire; but I don’t know what’s worse. Using rare fire weapons against her, or just letting her explode all over the place after taking her down with pistol rounds. She may have been amazing in “The Last Picture Show”, but I really wasn’t expecting her to show up when the walkthrough mentioned a “Leech man”.

Also, is it true that she’s the main antagonist of the Young Frankenstein DLC?
