Duolingo vs. DeepL – Which is better for language learning?

I'm trying to decide between Duolingo Super ($11.3/year) and DeepL Pro ($50/year) for language learning. The price difference is huge, but they serve different purposes.

Has anyone used both? Which one is more useful in the long run? Or is it better to just stick with the free versions?
