Failing grade
I know it is a long shot, but has anybody gone through something similar?
So I am in an awkward situation right now. Due to some unforeseeable medical reasons, I had to stop attending to class after the first two weeks of this fall semester, missed all my midterms and stopped handing in assignments. I reached out to my professors but all I got was to attempt to withdraw or just get the F. I recently reached out to student affairs and I have an Exception Request Form ready to hand in, along with documents from the clinic/doctor.
I am with student aid, and because I withdrew from my classes during spring/summer term (I won't go into specifics, it's all medical), I got a letter stating that no more funding if I withdraw from two consecutive terms. I reached out to student aid to let them know about my medical condition, and the possibility of a full refund from macewan IF my form gets approved. All they said was to apply again after I withdraw from these courses and apply for an appeal.
Now, if I withdrew from two classes, and take the F from the other, nothing would happen and I'd be responsible to pay for any grants I got cause I'd be going part time. Or I completely withdraw and appeal for the future rejected application.
There are two medical assessments from the hospital upcoming this month. I have online classes arranged next semester for the mean time, and I have accommodations with ADR. I think I would have a strong case to appeal the future decision from student aid. But nothing is certain. So I'm leaning towards getting the F. So far my GPA is good, and I wouldn't want it to drop. I have an appointment with a faculty advisor Monday.
Any advice or information would be much appreciate it.
