Using Generative AI art in a project? What’s your stance?

In another post about where to budget your money if you have any… someone suggested Mid Journey…

I was taken aback. I feel like modern audiences would absolutely eat you alive if they found out you were using AI art in the final project and that’s not a controversy you want surrounding your game. Even if you’re a solo dev.

I get using it for inspiration. Building mood-boards and whatnot. But using the AI artwork in the final product? That seems like a recipe for disaster.

It also just feels wrong. So many people losing out on work because of it… and it’s only going to get worse.

What are your thoughts?
