Why are most cosmetics for licensed characters linked now?

This didn't use to happen with older licenses like Saw, Stranger Things or Ash Williams etc. so it's really saddening to see that most cosmetics for licensed characters are linked now. I think there are some really cool cosmetics like the one for Yoichi that I'd love to mix and match but I can't because both of them are force glued together
