Quitting

A compilation of quitting messages or something.

Notes

1-I defo missed some

2-Some aren't "real"

3-Some aren't exactly quitting messages

Hello CitiesWar community,

Its BakaBento, that weeb from Sakura that you either know well or a person you don't know. Its been lots of fun but its time for me to let go. School has become a big part of my life(especially extracurriculars like marching band and indoor percussion). Thank you for having me in this community and however toxic it may have been at times, it was lots of fun.

Baka out.

I'll be quitting the game today. I've smashed my armies into a Hisp Border. Idk what to say lol, so goodbye I guess. I would go on a whole tangent thanking a fuck ton of people, but I don't think that's necessary. But I will thank the whole citieswar community, whether you love me, hate me or have never even met me, I feel like I do owe every one of you something.

Goodbye, have great life

citieswar is getting boring and toxic. i had a good time but its getting too stressful and i need to spend my life doing better things.

It is I, ImmaStealUrCWsubscription. I'm here today to announce to you that I will no longer be playing this game. Y'all have been great bruhs ngl. The sense of community this game provided is what kept me playing in the first place. But then, the fire nation attacked willy decided to rebrand it to EA China and now the game has become even shittier than it was before, which is pretty impressive considering how boring it is. Take is as you will, but I love you guys (except for you Kihtrak, fuck you to the moon) and I wish we could still keep in touch but willy has gave me no choice but to commit quit. Change the world, my final message. Goodbye

Carry the torch. Carry my legacy. Im not needed for them to fall ;)

May come back, who knows.

After a year of playing CW I think I’ve finally hit the point where the game just isn’t fun anymore, It’s the same thing everyday and I’ve lost motivation to build. Despite that CW had been my favorite game for a long time, the community of crackheads had a charm to it and never did I think I’d quit a few months back, People like Cheems, Baxter, DearDear, Reedy, Toilet, Nerf, BigALL, Starfe, Overcooked and Leg to note a few made the game what it is today for me. Without those few and many more I doubt I’d still be playing. Players like that and the small list of alliances I’ve been in honestly made quarantine a lot easier for me and I doubt I’ll be forgetting them anytime soon. But all things must come to an end, I’ve found new games and I’ve lost my time for CW so it is time I join XXIT, Ghwl and Big and many others.

Thank you CW.

I Was Wanting To Leave With A Video But The Brownie Boyz (Peg City Fiend and Brownie) Caused A Level Of Voter Suppression, The Likes This Community Has Never Seen Before.

So Instead I Leave With A Quote.

Famous Penguinz

I've been through some much shit in CW, I've started in NCR and ended in cascadia, the main reason I'm leaving the game is the fact that at some point, the game turns into build mines, expand your army, lose it all in a stupid war, and repeat, I've fought in so many wars and had such an amazing time in Cascadia, in NCR I would be the guy that everyone farms, I agreed to this position hoping that the rest of the alliance would do something, but they abandoned me, eventually I got a break from the game and returned as a player in Cascadia, which is the moment when the game turned from "experience of getting farmed" to "Swiss simulator", the Cascadia-TR war was also a blast. I think I can say that I left quite a mark on California, and actually the entire western coast, I've had my ups and downs, and had personal wars such as my war with Lubec for Oakland, in which I won all 7 battles of Oakland, I've used so many nukes, that I could probably kill a max army with them... Two times over. I will still be active on Discord and sometimes check the sub, my last wish is for no one to take Oakland... And if they do they should be bombed with the power of 100 suns

P.S. Don't worry about SF I will give it to another Cascadia member

(Not a whole lot)

I started playing this game just before the territories update came out. A lot has changed since then and most the players from then have either quit or gone semi-active minus a few. For the sane people who don't attempt to keep track of every player, I'm monky2.0 and have been with NSTC from the start but I joined TBS at the start of the year and don't even know what I'm doing anymore. So here's my two cents on this game and some advice.

1 First and foremost: It's a team game. Everyone knows that you can't play this game solo. Don't just pick an alliance based on location. Pick a group of people you can get on with and they'll help you out. There's no point spending months building for an alliance that you don't like. For me that alliance was NSTC, they are a great bunch of lads but if you think the Resistance is a good alliance then you do you.

2 Respect the community. Listen we are all wasting our lives in this game, might as well not be arseholes. It's a small community, everyone knows everyone. Yeah some people aren't going to like you but that's life. For the most part the community is a bunch of fairly decent people and if you have a good sense of humor and aren't a shithead then you'll have a good time in this game.

3 Use discord. If you don't then you are really missing out. Who doesn't want to watch LOTR at 4 in the morning on a call with a shitty connection or play agar.io while trying to avoid zmmiz because you can't tell whether or not he is trying to kill you.

4 Take a break every once in a while. I've been playing this game non-stop for a year and I'm fucking burnt out. I haven't even logged in in a few days for the first time in months and you know what it's refreshing. Seriously, the amount that people play this game is unsustainable. Players are quitting because this game becomes too much sometimes. The game isn't going to break down and you aren't going to lose all your cities if you take off every once in a while. Do yourself a favour and give yourself a break because you need it.

Anyway, I don't even know what this post was. Feel free to ignore everything I said, completely understandable. I'll be back ingame in a while I suppose. I just remembered that I started playing at the start of May last year and thought I'd post something or other

Cities War, has changed.

It has changed a lot since I started playing over a year ago now. But it is my opinion that it has changed overall for the worse. Possibly Irreversibly so.

Resources have become so easy to obtain through rivalries that the world has become flush with weapons. A new world war looms on the horizon with all these fresh weapons produced in a blink of an eye. A war, quite simply, that I do not have the time, energy, or will to fight.

Albion has accomplished much in our extremely short time. And there is much for all of us to be proud of.

We have stood, proud and defiant on our islands. First as a loyal subject to The Sakura Empire and the FIRST EVER successful colony/subject state in CW history to not fall to rebellion or to die out in the first month.

Over our time as a subject state of Imperial Sakura, countless voices of our enemies or so-called friends whispered into my ear that we should rebel, cast off the "chains" of Sakura and go our own way.

I would have none of it. The fools who called for rebellion failed to realize that Albion was stronger AS a subject of Imperial Sakura than a "free" nation. Sakura demanded no tax from Albion. In fact, the war minister of Sakura (Kevlord) donated INCREDIBLE amounts of gold to Albion out of the kindness of his heart and his Imperial Patriotism.

But times changed.

The Sakura Empire is gone, and with it, the unifying principles of our Imperial hardworking and professional nature.

We fought and won a world war, TR, Albion, Sakura vs NSTC.

We fought that war to end world-spanning empires in CW. NSTC had top cities on every continent of the world. After the war, Albion gladly gave up its holdings in North America as Imperial Sakura disbanded, all in the name of a more open world where smaller alliances could thrive.

But instead, TR continues to crush small alliances regularly. NSTC bullies Oceania and pushes them further and further from their territories.

Imperial Sakura disbanded and disarmed ourselves to try and make the game a better place for all players. And this is how we were repaid. With scorn and continued aggression from NSTC. And with our peers in TR and NSTC (as far as global power and influence is concerned) continuing their policy of Imperialism while we were weaker than we had ever been.

It is my opinion that What is left of the old guard of Sakura has lost the will to fight. A lot of us are deciding to move on from the game.

Vivid, The old emperor of Sakura is rightly choosing to spend his time focused on his wife and child instead of the daily stresses of running an Empire.

Sensei is rightly honing his artistic craft and cranking out amazing artworks.

Kev is running several clubs and organizing activities in his school for his fellow classmates.

And I don't blame any of them for it. Investing time into our real lives instead of this silly map game is honestly the wisest choice.

As a fan and student of history, I well know that no empire rules forever. They come and go, rise and fall. And I can sense Albion has peaked.

Albion has accomplished so much in its relatively short time though. There is much for my members to be proud of.

1st successful Colony alliance that did not implode or rebel against its mother nation. Because of our stalwart loyalty, Sakura AND Albion grew strong TOGETHER, raising each other up to heights never before thought possible.

1st Alliance with an Economic minister (Legassasin) who expertly coordinated our combined wealth and income to boost our military building speed far beyond what the rest of the world even thought possible. Because of this and the 4-month plan, Albion went from being a backwater colony to fighting on the front lines in a world war faster than anyone thought possible.

Like Sakura, Albion has NEVER lost a war that we fully committed to. NEVER defeated on the field of battle. This is thanks greatly to our war minister EraseableFilms. He caught my eye back in Sakura when he expertly deduced the identity of a spy within Sakura. One of my first acts, when Eli and I established Albion, was to appoint Erase into a leadership position. And while Erase and I don't always agree on everything, he does his job damn well and I could not ask for a better war minister, one who has many victorious campaigns under his belt.

Speaking of Eli, allow me just a moment to speak of two of our fallen Albion Patriots who have already left the game.

Eli Was my second in command when Albion was literally nothing. We had been stark political rivals in Sakura, but here in this wasteland that we hoped to one day carve into a great nation, we quickly put aside our differences and became comrades and brothers in arms. Eli 100% kept me sane in those early days of Albion. Without him to bounce ideas off of, I doubt I would have stuck with it, especially when people started to abandon us and go back to Sakura.

Samuraido, the absolute mad lad. Sam managed to bamboozle London away from Andrew E Wiggen and we ended up keeping it. He also held several borders for us back when Albion was but a few square miles of England. A true Albion patriot whose deeds for our nation I will not allow to be forgotten.

But let's not forget the humble Bannerman of Albion. If you have ever sacrificed entire armies for our cause, watched weeks and months of work and build vanish in an instant in defense of Albion, or to secure an important objective, allow me this moment to salute you PERSONALLY. Without the self-sacrificing spirit of people like YOU who gladly put entire ARMIES on the line to defend our home, Albion would have NEVER risen to the place in history we have EARNED.

So thank you. I am proud to consider you all comrades in arms for our great nation of Albion that we have built together, out of literally nothing.

But, enough of my rambling. Why am I making this entirely too long speech I hear you ask?

Well, the simple matter is, CW has changed. And without the support of my brothers from Sakura, Vivid, Kev, Sensei, and the others, I honestly don't feel the will to go on.

We are number 1, and the world hates us for it. I never asked to be the number 1 alliance, never dared to dream it would happen. But it did. My members made it happen, and I could not be more proud of each and every one of them. You earned this for all of us.

But, because of our status as number 1, every eye is on us, waiting for our moment of weakness, waiting to strike and destroy us. There has been talking amongst Albion leadership, that interest in the game is falling and a lack of wanting to continue. I feel it. I am sure you feel it somewhat too.

So I say, why wait for the enemy to inevitably destroy us? No Empire lasts forever. Albion will fall eventually no matter what any of us do. So why wait to go quietly into the night? Why not dissolve while we are still strong and powerful?!

I have too much pride in Albion to allow the history books to read that we were defeated by some foe. I don't want to give them the satisfaction of putting a SINGLE defeat on our record.

So, quite simply, I do think Albion is done. Erase has mentioned wanting to build a small alliance in Paris as a glorious last stand. Some have considered joining him there.

I will probably not quit the game 100% for some time, but the daily diplomatic issues, complaints, and criticisms of our political foes and rivals, the messes that pile up in my DM's every day: I am done with that.

Albion was strong. Albion number was one. But A leader is nothing without people to follow him. I am honored and humbled at what my members and I have all built here together. I am proud to call each and every one of them a fellow patriot and blood brother.

Thank you for your service to this little experiment we called Albion.

Albion Endured

-Mikel The Pikel, King of Albion

This trend of some of the great players that have quit since the beginning of my trip got me thinking.

Im not sure that a year from now many people would know the greatest Louded/Inglorious or guys like RockSteady, AndyG etc... and that for my is kinda sad, because this is history of the game, and this game needs narratives like the ones that this players provide to still alive.

Now you have the mechanic of voting the value of cities, I think it could be done the same way with players. (Obviously the Hall of Fame should open with players already inside, cant imagine a HOF without for example Inglorious I don’t care if he doesn’t get a single vote).

I wouldn’t like the HOF to be exactly as the cities. I will add a note in that regard at the end of this post but I don’t think everyone could be available for the HOF voting as for example not every single NBA player gets to that point of be HOF contender. I think the best way to do it should be having a preselection someway. A way to do it would be having a group of people that Willy trust to take the task seriously and filter a bit, because if it is as cities it would be everybody voting for themselves and it would just not have the aura of greatness that this thing require to have some meaning. At the end of that filter I would make a vote or the form of selection that you think is the best.

IMPORTANT. I would do it in a way that only 1 player could be added every month. This way you maintain a rhythm of 12 players a year so it automatically keeps the level of singularity that I was talking before.

How the HOF should look like I think we can have a debate down here with your ideas but Willy you should have pretty accurate stats that can be provided so new players that doesn’t know this legends get a view of what they where, like holding London, the most valuable city, for almost a year, being the first Lord, being a leader of a dominant Alliance or simply having a huge impact on the game.

Note for the players if this makes the game someday. Lets make it serious, a Hall of Fame should be a Hall of Fame and a few number of remarkable players should end up there. Memes are fun but it doesn’t need to be memes every time.

What ya’ll think?
