Best Budget Ryzen 5600X build in 2025?
Got gifted a 5600X for a CPU. Planning on re-using my GTX 1060 (as GPU prices are ridiculous) and my 2 TB SSD. I currently have an i5-8400 and have been on this for years now. I only play League of Legends and Marvel Rivals basically. I mostly use my computer for browsing and light editing and animation (1080P on Davinci Resolve and Adobe Animate).
Trying to get the best bang for my buck in 2025. Yes, I know everyone says AM4 is a dead platform. But I don't play AAA games nor do I play on the fanciest settings. I just need an everyday beater, with light editing and multi-tasking.
These are the pieces I currently have below, but unsure if there's any pieces that I should "future proof"? Or is each piece essentially a throw away for any future builds? I know the motherboard is essentially a write-off (since its an AM4 socket). Should I just go with the cheapest motherboard?
Are there any other pieces I can splurge a little on, that I may potentially re-use in a future build in 5 years? Also, generally could you just rate if there are better pieces I can swap out for value? I went with DDR4-3200 because I read there's not much different from 3200 vs 3600. Keep in mind I'm in Canada.
Thanks in advance
