American Airlines is the Dallas Cowboys of Airlines

Robert Isom’s claims that AA will leaning in a more premium direction reminds me of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones saying that the team would be going “all in” after losing to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs. The Cowboys would go on to have a losing record for the 2024-25 NFL Season, which included them getting steamrolled by the New Orleans Saints, the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles (TWICE!!!) and the Houston Texans.
