What is the purpose of men?

so many terfs say that the male species only purpose is reproduction and the more proactive roles such as being a provider and protector is something women can do too. Sounded weird when I first heard it, still find it weird now. so then why do men exist? Why do straight women exist to more or less be at the mercy of so-called "heteronormativity patriarchy"? Something doesn't add up.
