When and what to start saving?

v26 has been announced to be "several weeks away". Could be 3, could be 8, could be over 9000. When is a good time to start saving up? And what do you think the most important currencies are? Gems, Stones, keys, coins,reroll shards, medals, cells?! Or just save all of them?
