"If it's not in the lesson plans..."
Doing an Erin's Law presentation today (lesson on sexual violence that parents can opt students out of). Have some students who are confirmed opted out ask where the other room to go to is. Nothing in the lesson plans. Call the office and get such snarky attitude and met with "Well if it's not in the lesson plan, the teacher doesn't have one set up. What's it say there" nothing. it say nothing. It say I hand the lesson over to the district presenter. I legally cannot force these students to sit in on this lesson so now I have to figure it out. They're currently sitting in the hall. I'm just frustrated because it feels like this was an issue they should have foreseen. Maybe - IDK just spit balling here - the sub coordinator could check lesson plans to make sure subs have what they need for success. Guess its a lot to ask people to do their job though.
