Please explain Seven's backstory (season 5)

After watching ep. 9 of season 5 (https://youtu.be/bBIluqDzp4Q?si=_b06XhzeKjuqIT_f), I can create two stories.

FIRST

• Seven was attracted to a girl.
• The leader, seeing her as his weakness, captured her.
• He came to save her and did.
• Assassins surrounded them, whom he kept killing.
• The girl stabbed him uncritically to make him start a new life and make appear as if he had been killed.

SECOND

• It was planned, the girl meeting him.
• For some reason (love, impression, etc.) she deviated from her purpose. (Around the same time she asked him who was the one he wanted to protect)
• She didn't sneak attack him.
• She was hence captured to lure Seven out.
• He came to save her and did.
• Assassins surrounded them, whom he kept killing.
• The girl stabbed him uncritically to make him start a new life and make appear as if he had been killed.

What do ya'll think actually happened?
