Rainbow Six Mobile's Roadmap to Global Launch

Ubisoft has provided this exclusive update to be shared directly within our subreddit, bringing you the latest on R6M’s development and upcoming phases straight from the dev team!

Hello Operators,

Since our decision in March to pause the rollout of new territories and content, we have worked to enhance key elements based on community feedback and create new features for R6M. Over the past months, we’ve made great progress and can finally share a quick update with you.

First, we have fully reviewed R6M and made major changes within our game: from the economy system to the artistic direction, including new game features that were requested by the community. More on this to come soon!

We’ve also improved server performance and addressed bugs to ensure optimal gameplay across a wider range of mobile devices. Our goal is for players to experience R6M with high FPS and graphics settings!

Road To Worldwide Release

With the arrival of several new impactful features and significant improvements, we’ve implemented three phases of testing. Each phase is designed to assess and validate the changes, and we will not progress to the next phase before the test is considered successful and our expectations are met. This is especially important for us to not only bring you an amazing tactical experience but to ensure smooth gameplay as well.

Phase 1 – Technical Test

The first phase involves a tech test. We want to technically test all the new features and changes we have brought to the game. We will also monitor the reactivity of our team to determine how quickly and effectively we can not only respond to issues as they arise but also monitor these issues. We have plans to track errors and crashes to deliver an optimal performance.

Phase 2 – Engagement Test

Once the tech test is successful, we will move on to testing player engagement. We want to test the enjoyability of the new features we’ve brought to the game. It’s important to us that we evaluate how well we keep players engaged and returning. This is invaluable to ensure we have a large pool of players, offering optimal matchmaking, fewer bots and more fun!

Phase 3 – Transitioning to Global Launch

With the success of the engagement test phase, we will begin the final phase; making any necessary adjustments before transitioning to WWL. These include: deployment of data centers around the world, final balancing within the game, and closing any bugs discovered from the previous phases. We’ll then submit the final game build to Apple and Google in preparation for worldwide rollout.

This week, we'll be dropping a new devlog with more details about Phase 1, including all the new features and improvements we’ve made to the game. Phase 1 will also officially resume our Soft Launch and kick off the rollout of new live content to get feedback from the community.

We know it's been a long time waiting (for us too!) and we're eager for the continuation of Soft Launch, and hope this update sheds some light on the situation and next steps. Your ongoing patience and feedback are greatly appreciated!
