Mod team on this subreddit taking new players posts down hurts progress

When I was first learning how to play this game I just wanted advice on who my good pokemon were. One included a shiny eevee and I got removed for bragging before I could get any real advice. Is this good for the community? bc it feels like it only benefits the veterans here and pushes away new, genuinely curious players.
