What's the deal with pridefall?

I've noticed that some people on Twitter are warning people about harassment from 4chan allegedly organised under the name "Pridefall." Does anyone know what exactly 4chan (or the specific board) is planning to do and why? How will other websites be affected? Has 4chan done something like pridefall on this scale before?
