Galina Trefil: Post 8

My name is Galina. I'm the daughter of a serial killer. Yes, it is John's claim that he is both the Zodiac Killer and the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Killer. He doesn't tend to focus on these particular cases when he speaks, rather the ones in which the victims died (though were not necessarily from) inside the boundaries of Mendocino County. Yes, my parents have a verifiable link to two people involved in the case: Melvin Belli and Herb Caen. In the late 1970s, John Trefil worked as a psychiatrist, and was briefly the assistant chief psychiatrist, of San Quentin State Prison. While there, staff became suspicious that he had contributed to the death of an inmate. He was not fired for their suspicions, but for a more mundane reason. My father, very outraged, and debating murdering his former boss Warden George Sumner, contacted Attorney Melvin Belli, asking him to represent him in a lawsuit against SQ. Belli is referenced repeatedly in my father's diaries. John prided himself on the fact that he had terrible handwriting. He always laughed when people struggled to read it, and he enjoyed their irritation particularly when he would deliberately misspell and or mispronounce things, like names. Even my mother's name he deliberately misspelled on a regular basis. As his daughter, obviously I can read my father's handwriting. I'm including below some excerpts from his diaries which are typed out first and then following by a scan of the original document.
