What if Viserys I claimed Vermithor instead?

So this was something I thought of recently, but instead of claiming the dying of old age Balerion. What if Viserys waited till his grandfather Jaeharys passed and claimed Vermithor the Bronze Furry after becoming king?

How would Viserys as a person be changed? How would his reign be altered?
