Does anyone prefer the path Rebirth is taking?
For context not even an hour ago I beat FVII Rebirth, it’s my first final fantasy game along with its predecessors. I want to play FFVII OG next to pick up where the story leaves off but I’ve heard they’re completely different at this point. Before I complain about the ending I want to say I beat it in 60 hours in like a week, I loved this game and I took care of all my responsibilities to take time out to play this game. It’s probably in my top 3 favorites all time, the combat was amazing, the graphics, and character arcs. I loved playing FFVII Rebirth. With that being said I thought the ending made absolutely no sense and was shit. I don’t think that takes away from the fun sephiroth boss fights or the short lived Zack reunion, but I don’t really get what happened or what they set up next. To be fair Zack is my absolute favorite character because in crisis core he was funny, and I really liked the game and I thought he had an extremely well done conclusion. He also looks badass. But beyond that Zack is somewhere, I’m assuming he’s now in the same world or whatever as the gang. But throughout the game after the intro I was genuinely excited to play as him or at least see him on screen a little more than we did. Then again this is mainly because I totally thought he was dead going into it after crisis core. I also think Cloud and Aeriths relationship is wierd because Zack had her first and I think that’s some lame homie hopping. Especially when she said “you’re just like him but not because you’re you” or whatever it was. Apart from that before I hop into the original tomorrow, is there anything I should know? Can it tell a story the same way the remakes do? I’ve never played a game older than Ocarina of Time, and I’ve also never touched a turn based RPG beyond something like pokemon. Also about how far into the original is remake is it like 2/3 of the way through or more like 1/2? Thank you all
