Dynamics: Engineering Mechanics

Me: Sophomore in Mechanical Engineering. I was never really great at math, mainly because my HS had a very questionable math program so I've always lagged behind the crowd a bit since I've gotten to college. I've got a problem with being too proud to ask for help so this is definitely outside my comfort zone but I'm desperate

The Issue: I'm working my butt off in Dynamics and can't seem to improve my understanding/exam grades. I'm sure its early in the semester, however got a 50 back on the first quiz, and am now skeptical in my current knowledge in preliminary physics. I'm sure that I'm forgetting or missing a lot of the fundamentals in kinematic/kinetic physics as a whole.

Here on Out: For as much time that I put into Dynamics and relearning the fundamentals, I'm looking for a more effective way to study. Any study tips or for someone who has succeeded/passed the class to share their knowledge or experience on the key essentials or the MUST KNOW materials in order to be able to work this class with minimal hiccups would be amazing. Any tips or recommendations for making the best out of this Dynamics class would be much appreciated.

Thanks you so much for just reading that and even more if you can offer a suggestion :)
