Question for the hive mind
Hi Guys, question for you all, what's your setup like? I bought an 881 and have a stock 47" bar running a .404 hyper skip chain... Has been ok for the past year... Have a granberg mill and Milled approximately 20x8ft slabs or so(Oak/Beech/Ash 20" diameter at the smallest 30" on the upper) but it's tough work...and I figured buying a big saw and what was recommended (the hyper skip chain 132 drive links and maybe only 20 cutting teeth). Average cut takes about 12-15 mins. I've been experiencing a bit of trouble lately and was starting to feel like there may be a better way! So please, if you don't mind.... Would you all lemme know what you guys are running and how long you take to cut a similar slab. If you have an auxiliary oiler , tooth grind geometry and anything else you think would be useful information! Thanks so much for the info.
