31F sore throat for two months
I’ve had a sore throat for two months. It started in November; it was worse then and after two weeks I was put on antibiotics and that helped. Right before I got sick I had a new sexual partner (using protection, no oral) and I got tested five weeks after we had sex and tested negative for everything. Also around the same time I started a new medication: Fluvoxamine.
I have GERD (which I take omeprazole for) and I suspect the Fluvoxamine worsened the GERD and that’s causing the sore throat. A week and a half ago I stopped taking Fluvoxamine, but my throat is still bothering me.
My doctor said it’s probably post nasal drip or GERD. I’m talking to my psychiatrist on Monday.
Edit: trying to get pictures to workPictures of my throat; first two pics are from November and the third pic is from today. I have a lump (cyst?) on my lower right tonsil.
Medications include: Fluvoxamine (25mg) November 16 — December 27th; Zoloft (25mg) December 19 — today; Omeprazole (40mg twice a day); Melatonin 5mg as needed; Ashlyna birth control; Probiotics digestive advantage (2 a day as needed); Fish oil (2 a day when I remember)
Do you think this is something that will eventually go away on its own after I’ve discontinued Fluvoxamine long enough? Or should I see a gastroenterologist or ENT?
