What's up with kibibytes being constantly created?

For a few days now I keep getting pop-ups about variations of kibibytes getting invented, like "85 kibibytes", "129 kibibytes" and so on with random numbers. I also got "89 mebibytes" and "96 mebibytes" from one of the event rewards and it says they're created by Alchemy AI, not a user.

What does it mean, why does the game (?) keep creating these senseless elements?
